Significance of Shivratri :
Mahashivaratri is the most important festival for all the devotees of Lord Shiva specially for indians. The festival has been accorded lot of significance in Hindu mythology. It says that a devotee who performs sincere worship for Lord Shiva on the auspicious day of Shivratri is absolved of sins and attains moksha to thier lives. Most of the Indians are celebrating this festival.

Mahashivratri Festival is assumed a lot of benefitial by women in india. All women married and unmarried woke up early in morning and do shiva pooja. and it is observed that indian women fast and perform Shiva Puja with sincerity to appease Goddess Parvati who is also regarded as ‘Gaura’ - one who bestows marital bliss and long and prosperous married life. Unmarried women also pray for a husband like Lord Shiva who is regarded as the ideal husband.
